I've had several people ask me about Lucas. Where we got him, and why he was staying with us? I'm very sorry it has taken me this long to introduce him, especially because he is such an important guest.
Lucas, the magical elf, is a very special Santa's Helper. He is staying with us until Christmas, watching Abby and Sydney to see if they are being naughty or nice. Every night he flies away to report to Santa on the days events and returns the next morning to a different place in our house. He has been specially instructed by Santa to not talk and if he is touched, he will loose his magic. He came with a book that tells all about him and what he can and can't do. Abby and Syd even got to name him whatever they wanted. I'm not sure where Lucas came from, but it makes my laugh everty time I hear it. It just doesn't seem like an elf name to me.
Abby and Syd start looking for him first thing every morning. He always lands in creative places, like the Christmas tree, inside jars, and today he was dangling from our dining room light. The girls spend the day whispering to him extra items they would like to add to their Christmas lists, special messages for Santa and sometimes even tattling on each other.
Having him in our home has made Christmas extra special this year. The girls are super excited and because he is watching them all the time, they been on their best behavior. And if they start acting up, all I have to do is remind them about Lucas. Earlier this week I saw Sydney asking him to not tell Santa about her huge fit. She said she didn't want to get put on the naughty list.
What a great and fun idea!! Your girls will remember it always. Thanks for sharing. Love ya!
