Melissa, Derek's sister, has always been the official "birthday reminder" in the family. She remembers all the family birthdays and up until last year would call everyone to remind them to the call the birthday boy or girl. Last year, instead of calling, she started family-birthday-blogging. She is a very smart girl. If you wanted to be reminded, you had to always check her blog. I have absolutely loved it and of course I check the blog everyday. It has been great all year to hear all the funny stories and nicknames. Last week she did her post about Derek.
