Since I have decided that cooking dinner is totally overrated, Abby has started taking it upon herself to make dinner for the family. Most of her suggestions are strange (carrot quesadillas??) but a couple nights ago she suggested spaghetti. Even though I was told several times that she could take care of everything herself, I still insisted on supervising. I wasn't sure about her and a big pot of boiling water. I was given strict instructions that I could be in the kitchen but I could only "look, NOT touch."
While waiting for the water to boil, Abby started popping open the breadsticks can. I thought she could handle this on her own and left in search of Syd and the screaming upstairs. When I returned this is what I found.
At first I was very confused. My personality likes all the breadsticks in perfect rows, equal distances apart, with everyone twisted the same number of times. I had even given her those exact instructions before I left. I just sat and stared. I couldn't figure out what she was doing. Some where straight and some where bending. Some ever had fancy swirls. Then she explained that they were all of our initials. If you look closely you can see a J for Jessica, D for Derek, A for Abby, S for Syd and H for Henry.
Who is Henry?
I was confused as you are. Henry, she then told me, is what she wanted to call the baby. (Sorry, Abby, not going to happen.) I started to object and was then told that because "Henry" was in my tummy that along with the 'J' I also got to eat the 'H'. I liked that plan. More for me.
Dinner was delicious. Henry really liked it.
Aw come on...honestly...what's wrong with "Henry" after all...he did get you an extra breadstick! That's gotta count for something!
