1: We spent the weekend before last in Indiana/Illinois/Michigan with Derek’s family. It was a lot of traveling, but completely worth it because we got to see Derek’s entire family. I can’t remember the last time all 6 siblings were in the same place at the same time. Derek got to put the finishing touches on his cd with his brother and it was fun to finally get to see Grandma’s new house.
2: The main reason for our visit was for Derek’s little brother’s wedding. I still can’t believe that he is old enough to be getting married. Sierra, his new wife, is great. I’m so excited to have her has part of the family. Johnny is one lucky guy. The girls LOVED the reception. Abby spent the entire night playing photographer and taking pictures of everyone, while Sydney not so patiently waited for the cake. Once the music and dancing started, they never left the dance floor. The danced with all their uncles and loved to spin and spin and spin with their cousin Maddi.
3: The Kopp’s love to bowl. The girls hadn’t been in quite a while, but it didn’t stop Syd from bowling 1 strike and 2 spares. Check out that form.
4: Sydney turned 6 years old last week. I’m still in shock that my ‘baby’ is getting so big. She is sweet and stubborn all wrapped up in one super skinny package. If I had to list 6 things that Sydney LOVES right now they would be:
-Stuffies (stuffed animals)
-Mashed potatoes and green beans
-Hello Kitty
-Pink
-Skirts/Dresses
-Pattern Socks
5: It was a party year for Syd and of course for a girl who LOVES stuffies, she wanted to go to Build-A-Bear. So last Friday Derek and I herded 8 little kids through the mall to the happiest stuffy place in the world. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many super excited kids. They giggled and laughed and smiled the entire time. I loved it because I didn’t have to do anything….I just sat in the back and took pictures. After Build-A-Bear we headed to the food court for sack lunches and cake. Most of the kids from the party live in our neighborhood and I see them playing everyday with their new bears.
6: I can’t believe I’m over half way done with this pregnancy. 22 WEEKS, Only 125 more days to go. It has gone by so fast and I know I’m just going to blink and the little guy is going to be here. I’ve started picking up a few things here and there. I found the cutest little rocker shirt with guitars on it in Chicago. If Derek had his way, the little guy would be decked out in rocker t’s everyday.
7: Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Both of my girls refused to wear green to school today. Sydney wouldn’t even wear a pink skirt because it had green leaves by the flowers. I’m not sure what was going on, but they both came home from school with lots of pinching marks.
8: Abby made a leprechaun catcher for a class project. They gave us a couple weeks notice, but of course we waited until the last day. Her and Derek came up with a plan of a bright rainbow cave filled with gold and a trick door. I think it turned out great. And there is no way any leprechaun could resist that big, nugget of gold. She took it to school today and while they were at recess a leprechaun tried to steal the gold, but he somehow got away.
9: About 3 months ago we moved Abby into her own room and this weekend we finally got around to hanging stuff on her walls. We have a few finishing touches to add, and then I’ll take some pictures and post them. I decided we needed to start finishing some projects so we can get going on the baby’s room. I don’t think he’d appreciate all the pink baby decorations we currently have.
10: I know I’ve been a bad, bad, bad blogger. I keep telling myself that I’m going to be better, but then another week goes by and I still haven’t posted anything. Right now I’m averaging about 1 blog entry a month, I’m hoping to pull that up to at least 2 a month and maybe someday be back to 1 a week like I promised in the beginning. Only time will tell……
