Christmas Catch-up

I can't believe Christmas is in 2 days. We have been busy, busy, busy. Here are just a couple of things we've been up to.

LIGHTS AT TEMPLE SQUARE

My mom and dad came down last Wednesday to visit and finish up a little last minute shopping. On their way home, we all went and saw the lights at Temple Square. It was a perfect night, not too cold and not too crowded.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE COMPETITION

It was Derek and Abby verses Sydney and me. Which house do you like better? We had a lot of trouble with the roofs, but with the sugar high the kids where on, it didn't seem to matter.

LASSON FAMILY CHRISTMAS PARTY

Monday night we got together with the Dowdles, Winwards and Hulls for our annual Christmas party. Just like always, we laughed and laughed and laughed. We always have a great time when we get together. Darci served her tasty Baked Potato Chicken and we exchanged white-elephant gifts. If anyone needs an Inflatable Wife let me know, I got one.....thanks Val. 

I hate that I didn't take a lot of pictures, but I sure think these little girls are super cute.

Philip Johnny Bob

Sydney is very proud of her new baby elephant, Philip Johnny Bob. She designed it, stuffed it, and sewed it herself. I helped a little with the sewing machine and the buttons but it was all under Sydney's watchful and very specific eye. She is so excited that she stuffed it with rice so she can heat it up every night to keep her warm in bed. 

If you are interested in getting a Sydney original, just let her know. She said she'd make and sell them for around $2-7. Now that's a good deal.

 

Keep the treats coming

Derek is enjoying them very much. But not sharing very well.

Can boys take baths with My Little Ponies and Polly Pockets?

Evan screamed for the first 10 minutes we put him in the tub. Abby was convinced the water was too hot and burning him and Sydney was sure he just needed more toys. Eventually he gave in and started enjoying himself, kicking and splashing.....that is until he fell head first into the water and the screaming started all over again.

STEP 1: Make gigantic snowballs all over the neighborhood and haul them back to your yard using sleds.

STEP 2: Stack them up to make a fort.

STEP 3: Defend fort from intruders. 

 
 
  

Jordan: Senior Smarty Pants

This is Jordan, the best next door neighbor you'll ever meet. She is smart, beautiful, dependable and never causes any trouble. She only gets A's in school, is always willing to babysit, and doesn't care when Abby follows her around. Basically, she's PERFECT! 

I'm still in shock that she is all grown up and headed to college next year (on a full ride scholarship). I'm so excited she asked me to take her senior photos and even more excited that we got so many great ones.
