As much as I have loved summer with late nights, vacations and freedom, I think everyone at my house is very ready for schedules, bedtimes and not being together all the time. The girls were very excited to start school today. They both jumped out of bed as soon as there alarms were buzzing and were dressed and eating breakfast before I could even make it to the bathroom. I think this early morning is going to be tons harder on Derek and me then on them.
Abby is starting 5th grade. She has Mrs. Park and is most excited to have her best friend Lexi in her class. We've heard wonderful things about Mrs. Park and think she is going to be great for Abby. In true Abby fashion, she wore dirty summer flip-flops and wrists full of 'silly-bands' as part of her first day look. I was glad she at least decided to not wear pants with holes in the knees.
Sydney is starting 2nd grade and has Mrs. Bigler. She is also very excited to have a lot of great neighborhood friends in her class including Emily and Ty. She has been waiting for weeks to get to wear her 'scarf shirt' and glitter shoes and was so excited that they looked so good with her zebra print backpack.
*********
I can't believe how quiet it is at my house right now. Without all the usually commotion, Evan is still sound asleep. Looks like the poor guy is trying to catch up for all his missed summer sleep in 1 day. We are both going to miss our girlies all day and are already counting down the hours until they're back home.

What cute girls! Can't wait to read about Abby's 'coming home'... and what happened to the foot?
