Neon Green 5th Grader

One of the most important things about being a fifth grader at Fox Hollow Elementary is your class t-shirt. It is a tradition to get one every year and wear them to show class pride on Fridays and for class trips. Every class gets to choose a different color and even though Abby wasn't very excited about the neon green color at first, she has decided it is easy to spot her class friends at lunch and on the playground. 

The t-shirt showcases a little illustration of each kid in the class and their signature. I love how they show the different kids personalities including fancy cursive names, glasses, spiky hair, and tongues sticking out. I love Abby's illustration with the huge grin. She really is loving 5th grade.

**The poor little girl 2 up from Abby and over one drew her cute hair barrettes in her picture, but they look more like horns and everyone keeps teasing her.

One Charming Party

A couple of weeks ago I submitted some photos of Abby for a model casting call. Abby just rolled her eyes when I told her what I'd done, but was very excited (and nervous) when they emailed and said she had been selected. I love the blog One Charming Party and couldn't wait to see all their fantastic ideas up close.

The photo shoot was last Saturday and Abby is a natural. She smiled and winked and flipped her hair like a pro. She wasn't very good at the chopstick sorting game, but she got all the hearts stacked in record time. They let her keep the cute dress and tights, but she was most excited about the bubblegum necklace.

2010 Christmas Card

Christmas cards went out this year....but only to about half our list. So if you got one, we are probably related. Everyone else gets a late, electronic version...sorry. But that doesn't mean we love you any less,I promise.

2010 KOPP FAMILY HIGHLIGHTS

• evan turned 1 and totally devoured  his cake

• abby spent 6 weeks in culver, indiana at a summer camp riding horses, swimming and getting injured

• finished our basement

• went camping in colter bay village and visited jackson hole and yellowstone 

• sydney performed in her first play and didn’t love it

• abby turned 10 (double-digits!) and is a 5th grader

• evan learned to walk, open cupboards and make messes

• jessica went to the vancouver Olympics

• syd took gymnastic lessons

• abby played soccer with the blizzards and derek was the coach

• sydney turned 7 and started 1st grade

• evan gives the best hugs and loves to be with his sisters

• at church jessica is a relief society counselor and derek is the varsity scout assistant

• spent a week skiing and snowboarding in park city with the kopp family

• had a pet snake for a month

• starcraft was released and derek is in love

• everyone is happy and healthy!

Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time, in a far away land, there was a beautiful young lady. Her name was Joslen. And she sang songs so nicely that when the birds heard her they exploded.

And there was a handsome prince named Jude. And they were in love.

But one day, an evil witch came along. And she cast a spell and she said magic words. Boom! The girl was no longer beautiful. Then the witch went to the prince and said some magic words and cast a spell. And the prince was no longer handsome. 

And the witch was happy that now they were not in love.

But when she came back the next day they were in love again. And that meant the witch messed up. And so then she did it again. And so she did it on the prince. Boom! It made him handsome. And then she did it on the girl. Boom! The girl was pretty again.

And they were in love again. And so that meant the witch messed up again.

So the witch gave up.
