Before we jump into this weekend, I wanted to make sure and document all the amazing fun we did last weekend. We ran around like crazy people from activity to activity and loved every minute of it. With Derek and I both working full time, usually our weekends are full of cleaning and yard work and laundry. Last weekend showed me a little glimpse of what life would be like if I got more organized and did more house stuff done during the week (or if I hired a maid, a cook, and landscapers.)
Friday night Abby and I hit snuck out with some neighborhood friends to watch Hunger Games. We had both read the book and were very excited to see the story on the big screen. It did not disappoint. It's fun to go on 'girl dates' with Abby. I love going out together and experiencing new things that we are both excited about. I'm also grateful for friends who put fun night like this together.
Saturday morning we loaded the whole family up and headed out on a grand adventure. For years I've been seeing pictures and hearing about the Color Festival at the Krsha Temple in Spanish Fork canyon. We also seem to be out of town or forget, but this year I got it on the calendar early and even pre-registered. It was an amazing experience. At first the kids weren't sure what was going on and why people were throwing stuff at them, but it only took a couple minutes and they were playing right along. It was a great outdoor festival with live music and lots of happy people. Evan was a huge hit. Several people wanted their picture taken with the crazy color throwing 2 year old. Abby got super brave and even did a little crowd surfing. This is definitely a new Kopp family tradition. Anyone in for next year?
We finished off the weekend with a little double date with the Dowdles. We grabbed some burgers and fries and then headed to the REAL soccer game. Even though the game wasn't very good (we lost) it was still fun to spend time with friends and reconnect. We sure miss them across the street but are glad they hummor us in our REAL soccer obsession.
